Hooray for saving $$$!

Okay- I'm a total dork!!! But I'm excited about what Adam and I did today. Beware. You will laugh at us.

First of all, I attended a coupon class a few weeks ago to learn how to save some big $$$. I wasn't sure about it all but today was a success! We don't get the Sunday paper so I was sad to not have any coupons until Adam went through the recycling bin at our apt and got all of the coupons for me. So we spent a few hours today cutting and organizing coupons and then we headed to Harris Teeter for triple coupons and Kroger for a few doubled coupons.

The grand total: We spent $48.21...but we should have spent $124.43! Woo-hoo!!! Thank you to my husband for spending his afternoon shopping with Graham and I. (and Adam is sick too!)

"Thank you Aunt Laura and Uncle Luke for my hockey shirt! I decided to wear it today since the NC Hurricanes lost last night. Now I won't get beat up around here. =) I love you guys!" -Graham

I love my hippo too!!! Kissy-kissy-kissy!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Friday Fun!
*Swimming with playgroup friends! Our first day with a swimdiaper and sunscreen!
*Hanging out with Daddy since he came home early to start the nice, long weekend.

Saturday Fun!
*Surprise! I was told not to eat breakfast b/c we were having a nice family breakfast out to eat! Yummy Cracker Barrel. =) Cowboy Graham and morning faced Mommy & Daddy= FUN!
*A dip for our feet in the chilly apt pool. Please excuse the girlie outfit Graham is wearing. It gave Adam and I a GOOD laugh when we put this on on him. We decided this would be a play outfit for home. Who wants their chunky white thighs in plain view? =) All I did was eat his legs all day!!!
*Graham tried carrots! Not his favorite...so far sweet potatoes and peas are winning. =)
*The ending to a fun day...we played Settlers of Catan with the Hamby's and Bishops, and I won! I'm going on a 3 win streak...somebody stop me! =)

Sunday Fun!
*Church- second time in the nursery and Graham was great!
*Lunch with Anna & Andy at Havana Grill in Cary.
*Dinner at the Davis household- Adam's Aunt Patty and Uncle Tom. Thanks for having us!!!

Monday Fun!
*Cleaning, and NOT by myself. I know not all women are blessed to have helper-husbands but I sure do! Thanks for helping me clean the apartment babe. THAT is a huge blessing. Thank you Adam!!!
*Dinner with Jami-Jo and Wes. We had a great time eating and hanging out. We will miss our from IN- NC neighbors. They watch Kittgirl for us when we are gone and we watch their dog Bella.
Kittygirl wanted us to show that she now offers babysitting services to anyone who wants it. She doesn't do diapers though, or anything where you actually have to TOUCH the baby.

*Ate sweet potatoes!
*Stayed in the church nursery...he was perfect! Phew!
*Fell and got his first shiner :(

Happy Anniversary to My Big Sister Anna & her husband Andy. Woo-hoo! 8 years =)

My Baby Sister is getting married in 143 days! She got engaged to a WONDERFUL man last month and we are just thrilled about it. You can read their story on their new website: http://weddings.theknot.com/pwp/pwp2/view/MemberPage.aspx?coupleId=7709758132310885 Becky Vukovich has a definite ring to it, doesn't it? =) I'm so happy that she found her Mr. Wonderful, and he truly does treat her like his princess. Becky & Nik deserve a happily ever after and I'll be praying for this time before they get married. Wasn't being engaged so much fun? Lots of anticipating and excitement! We will be heading out to Denver in October for the big occasion. Love you Becky & Nik!

More Firsts!

First, I need to say HAPPY 5 MONTHS to my baby Graham! It's crazy that he is 5 months old now. This new life of mine is just great, andI am blessed to be able to stay home with him and see him do amazing things like...roll over from his back to his tummy for the first time on his own today! He has been rolling over from front to back for a while, but not the other way. You'll never guess what lured him to roll over...the TV remote! SUCH A MAN THING to roll over for. I guess it's proof that men want the remote from the get-go. So proud of my happy boy.

Second, Graham got to experience his first movie in the theater! We saw Star Trek, which was very entertaining and the first movie we've seen since November!!! (Adam pretended he didn't like it due to his love and obsession to Star Wars.) Graham was pretty good, but he wanted to participate during the loud scenes with loud noises of his own, so Daddy sat in the back with Graham during half of the movie, so no one got mad at us. Overall, it was a success!

Then...we all went out to eat at a great restaurant in Asheville, NC called Decades. We highly recommend it! Good food, fun atmosphere, and family! The perfect combo. We all got a little silly and decided that we needed some creative shots...here's what we came up with! =)

Finally, yesterday was my first Mother's Day! Graham and Daddy gave me a nice card and a 1 hr massage. I LOVE getting massages and am looking forward to scheduling this little pampering session. I then got to spend the day with my sweet baby and family. It was a great Mother's Day at Mountain Air!

Daddy owes Graham a car =)

This is Graham's "happy tummy" face!

Success! Prayer & prune juice & bribery seem to be the tricks! On Tuesday morning, Adam told Graham that if he pooped that day he would buy him a car when he turned 16! haha. Graham took that to heart and gave me a nice present while driving around in the car. All of a sudden I smelled this "dead skunk" smell coming from the back of the car and I hoped that it was a diaper present. We raced home and lo and behold- the stinkiest poo ever was in his diaper! Luckily it was not a blow-out but definitely in the "sludge" category. It's amazing what a little rice cereal will do to the consistency of poo. Now that I've thoroughly grossed you out, here are a few cute before and after pics of Graham eating rice cereal.
"This is where the rice cereal is going to go...IN MY BELLY!"
"Is it okay that my face is so messy Mom?"
"Oh good! I like being messy!"

Come on #2!

Never thought we'd have this issue in this family...but Graham seems to be constipated! We started rice cereal one week ago and it has actually been going very well. He's not a raving fan of it, but most of it does end up going down the hatch! It was funny to watch Adam feed him- it's a learned skill that takes some practice. Graham wants to "help" hold the spoon and it ends up everywhere. Graham is usually a great pooper (we are so proud). But this weekend I kept waiting for a big explosion and nothing came! He hasn't pooped since Thursday so I called the pediatrician and they said to give him a little prune juice and that will do the trick. Well, Graham did NOT like the prune juice, so I used his vitamin dropper to make him drink a little bit of it. We'll see what happens! Pray for poop! =)

Baby Elvis!

Happy Elvis baby.

"Whoa! I look good!"

"You thought I was really Elvis, didn't you?"

"I don't really know how to jump yet, but swinging around is fun!"

"I heard pasty, white, chunky, thighs are in this season! My mom said so."
