4 weeks old!

A typical day for Graham...well, so far there is no typical! =) Yesterday he was determined to stay awake and not miss a thing. Today he's making up for lost nap time. He's sleeping in his bouncer like a champ and I'm taking advantage of every minute and doing crazy things like showering! It's so much fun to watch Adam get home from work and dash over to his little boy. He loves holding him and says over and over, "Man, what a good looking kid! I love Grahamer Tots-he's so cute." He's very proud of his boy, although I think Graham hurt his feelings a bit last night when he wouldn't stop crying, and then I held him and he was a happy little clam. But by the end of the night he was over-tired and finally crashed at 11:00pm. GET THIS...he slept until 4:30am! We both woke up at 8:30am, rested and ready for the day. I'm hoping he continues to sleep well in the night. He seems to like his pack n play a lot better than his crib at the moment. I think he's just used to it. I'm not sure when we'll make the big move to the nursery!
Well I'm going to go check on my little booger- who is still sleeping in the bouncer in the bathroom. Oh and thanks to Erin for helping me realize that you can post pics on THIS side of the blog, hehe. I'm a little blog-challenged but I'm learning.

Happy 4 weeks my sweet son! I love you!

The Christmas and New Year Blur!

Meeting Grandad and Granny for the first time. Four Generations Represented!

A Very happy Hubert family

No words needed for these two guys in their onesies.

Well, I apologize for the late posting BUT we've had a little someone on our hands to take care of, and anyone who has ever had a little one most likely understands! First of all, thank you very much to everyone who said a prayer for our safe travel to IN. It was a success! Graham was a wonderful traveler and only blew out 1 diaper into his car sear (granted it was the first stop we made). He slept like a champ every time the car started to move. I am now an expert at nursing and changing diapers on my lap in fast food parking lots. Adam was a very safe driver and the trip went relatively quickly. It was wonderful being able to spend the night with the Roe's in Nashvillle (thank you Jordan and Bethany) and it finally felt like Christmas as we pulled into Evansville on Christmas Eve. God is good and I'm so grateful for the safe trip and a healthy baby. Graham met so many new people in Evansville including his Great Granny and Grandad, Becky, Aunt Laura, Uncle David, Becky's significant other, Nik, and many extended family members and friends. It was a special Christmas and one I'm sure our family won't forget. We traveled back to NC on New Year's Eve, although our plans were altered for the better. We planned to stop at my parents condo near Asheville NC as our stopping point on the drive home. Well, my parents decided to stay at Mountain Air (condo) for a few days so my dad would be flying in his plane there. We decided that Graham and I would fly with my parents there since it's only an hour and a half flight vs. a 7 hour drive with 2-3 stops, making it a 10 hour drive! So Adam left Evansville in our car and I flew to Asheville. I was nervous about our little family being separated but God protected us all! We even arrived in Asheville within 20 minutes of one another. We ventured out to eat for the first time since Dec 11th and that was exciting! Graham got many oodling stares from onlookers and Adam and I were the smiling, proud parents.

We are now home and settling back into a routine. Graham has had a fussy morning, but we think it's just gas and a little diaper rash bugging him. He has also started this new thing called "spitting up" that can be surprising if you aren't ready for it! =) Adam goes back to work tomorrow and Graham and I are sad to lose our VERY WONDERFUL and HELPFUL Daddy. I know we will both look forward to him coming home each night! Our big plans today include attempting to attend night church and possibly his first real bath! His umbilical cord fell off at exactly 3 weeks while I was changing his diaper in a Wendy's parking lot on our way home on New Year's Day. This boy likes to meet milestones exactly on target! That's my boy! =)

Road Trip!

If someone would have told me that I would be attempting a very long road trip with a 1 1/2 week old baby a little while ago, I would have told them they were nuts! BUT lo and behold...tomorrow we are venturing out to cold, cold IN. We are going to make the trip in 2 days, hopefully making it to Nashville, TN to stay with our wonderful friends, Jordan and Bethany Roe tomorrow night, and then heading to Evansville on Christmas Eve morning. Please say a prayer for SAFE travels, HEALTHY baby, PROTECTION from germs and the cold, SLEEPY baby and a WIDE AWAKE Daddy who will be manning the vehicle full of precious cargo. I'm nervous about the trip, but the pediatrician has given us the okay. We were advised to not play "pass the baby" at family gatherings, but at least everyone will get to see him. Our younger siblings have yet to meet Graham so that will be special. It's such a sweet time to have a baby and to think about the real meaning of Christmas. I'm so glad I'm not Mary and I didn't have to ride a donkey in my last weeks of pregnancy. And I'm worried about DRIVING! I'm very excited to celebrate the birth of Christ this year, as it is an extra sweet year for our family. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!!!

More than one sprayer in the house!

Whoa! The sprayer was in full swing last night! Graham peed on Mommy and then while Mommy searched for a clean outfit, Daddy was holding him on our comforter WITHOUT A DIAPER (silly daddy) and he peed again through his blanket and onto our comforter. Well, we've been needing to get it dry cleaned anyway! Now it's a done deal! This morning Daddy said he was prepared and ready for the sprayer when changing his diaper but Graham showed him! Graham shot pee on the wall, on daddy, on the scale on the floor, and on himself-oh yea, he pooped in Daddy's hand too. Hehe. Outfit number 3! So he is wearing his Santa outfit today. I've also learned to wear a bra and nursing pads at night! Graham decided I he wasn't going to feed too well at 12:30am so Mommy was pretty full and then 4 1/2 hours later Mommy woke up soaked in milk! The sheets were wet and so was Mommy. Nursing bra/pads here I come....so to sum things up: We learned a little bit more about how to handle the various liquids we encounter during the nighttime. I think today calls for a nap!!!

Sleeping, Pooping, Bathing, Cuddling...my new life! =)

cutest booty in the world!

Good Morning from a happy Mommy and Baby! Last night Graham had his best night of sleep yet! We fed, slept 3 hours, fed, slept 3 hours, fed and slept 2 hours to wake up at a very decent time of 9:30am! WAY TO GO LITTLE BUDDY! So far, we've only had one really bad night of screaming and tears for no reason that we could figure out. God knows this lady loves her sleep and I was blessed with sweet sleep last night. Now my wiggle man is wide awake and stretching and happily kicking his legs! He is already growing and changing so much, and I'm loving each stage. He's 8 days old now and it's flown by! We have given him 2 sponge baths and he's due for another one today. Graham said, "Mommy, I can't help it if I pee on myself sometimes when my diaper is off. It feels so good!" I am learning how to prevent the "sprayer" from going everywhere, but he got us (and the pediatrician) a few times. Here are a few pictures from his first sponge bath a few days after coming home.

Introducing Graham Heston Hubert!

Ready to go to the hospital!

UH-OH- contraction!

Excited to meet our son!

In pain and for some odd reason squeezing my face helped me feel better. =)

Welcome Graham Heston Hubert!

Proud Daddy

Welcome Home Graham

Our dreams came true on December 11th, 2008 at 6:07pm when our sweet baby Graham arrived! I went into labor exactly on my due date at around 12:30am, went to the hospital at 9:00am, began pushing at 4:20pm and out he came about 2 hours later. My labor was exactly how I wanted it to be until around 4:00pm when we realized that my epidural that I had gotten about an hour earlier was not working! "HOLY COW", I thought, "I'm going to have to push this baby out on my own now!!!" Needless to say, the pushing was very tough and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it, but the amazing thing about labor is there is an end in sight and it won't go on forever! As I look at my sweet baby now, I would do it over and over again to get a prize such as him! He was 8 lbs 10 oz and 20 in long. He is just beautiful and looks a lot like his Daddy. I am in awe of God's goodness and answered prayers every time I look at him. 2008 is a year I will NEVER forget! Check out Psalm 40- Adam and I love the beginning of this Psalm as it describes how we felt when we first got pregnant and now with our baby boy.

WElllll......I'm STILL pregnant. :) 39 weeks and 6 days pregnant folks. Somehow I had convinced myself that this little baby would make his debut a little early, but he is already liking to prove his Mommy wrong. Tomorrow is his due date and I have a doctor's appt at 9:30am so we'll see if I've made any progress since last week. This is such a sweet time of life as many friends have new babies coming into the world monthly it seems! Yesterday I had 2 friends go into labor. Praise God for 4 new babies this week! I must admit, I'm a little jealous that they have their babies here, but I know our turn will come and I WON'T be pregnant forever. Adam and I are having baby dreams each night now. It's strange that we have waited and waited for this time to come and we are just about there!
Adam has a crazy, busy week and I have...well...a lot of time on my hands!!! He has tests, meetings, appts, Christmas shows, parties, and a very pregnant wife at home to take care of. I am busy at home waddling around and hanging out with Kittygirl. I try to plan some fun adventure out each day to help me get up and going. Today I'm off to use some coupons- WOO HOO! Very exciting. I know. Please keep us in your prayers! I can't wait to update this blog with the best news!!!
