My big boy has reached 22 months and what was the first thing I heard??? "No, no. I do it." Yes, we have entered (or should I say) continued into the major independent phase. He's a smart boy and I'm glad he wants to be more independent, but it definitely requires more patience on my side. No one dares put him in his high chair, he must climb. He wants to climb into the van, climb on the lawn mower, climb up the stairs and jump back down (scary) and so much more. This past month he learned how to open the doors in our house that have round door knobs so now he can get into pretty much anything he wants. That boy is too tall...Time to childproof the round knobs!
This past month he started putting his phrases into complete sentences. His first sentence was "I want some bubbles". Now it's I want this and I want that for everything! Another thing that cracks me up is he is in love with my chapstick. He calls it "mastick" and likes to lick it. We've discussed over and over how it is for lips and not tongues, but he usually gets a good lick in there before I can swipe it from him. He's into coloring more, loves anything that has to do with hoops, balls, or sports in general, and Sesame Street. He is pretty well balanced with his love for music, sports, and trucks. He's all boy and that pleases his Daddy to no end. Parenting does become more tricky as each month passes and more discipline is required, but we are learning consistency is the key and WE WILL WIN! Meltdowns are a daily occurence that wear me out. Being pregnant with twins and having a rambuncious toddler sure is tiring. Adam is such a wonderful daddy and helper to me. I have no complaints about that! Thanks for stepping up to the plate. Gone are the days when he comes home and just gets to relax. =)
Here are some pics from this past month...
25 weeks
The guest room is painted...and the big boy furniture arrived! Graham's big boy room is slowly but surely coming together. Adam and Graham had so much fun putting this bed together. Graham LOVES to help his Daddy and had many jobs...hold the tools, pass out the screws, make sure someone can crawl under the bed...things like that.
