Tiny Peanuts

We had Tucker and Loey's 4 month check-up and shots today. Both babies are doing really well and growing on their own little tracks, but they are SO tiny. Tucker weighed 12 pds 5 oz and he is in the 6th percentile. Loey Kate weighed 12 pounds 3 oz and is in the 16th percentile. Tucker is an inch longer than Loey and his head is bigger too. He's my lean machine and Loey has a little more chub-a-wub on her, but not much I guess! I've been exclusively breastfeeding the twins and I believe their small size and need to share "me" when eating is keeping them waking up at night 1-2x still in order to get all their needed calories. We were down to 1x for about a month but they are kicking it back up to 2x. Trying to grow so I will feed them, but I'm so tired. Being a breastfeeding mom to twins really is exhausting. I am grateful though that I have been successful at giving them the heathiest option. I'm trying not to compare to other babies since our situation is so different, but it's hard when I so tired still.

I LOVE these babies so much and cherish their differences (even though the differences drive me bonkers at times). People are always telling us how blessed we are and it's always a good reminder to hear that bc we have our frustrating moments and days where we complain a lot. Graham also is really loving "his babies". He is wanting to hold them more and more, which is scary and sweet! Graham always asks where the babies are. He tries to help them when they are fussing by singing in their faces (!). I can tell Graham loves his brother and sister. I hope they all grow up to love each other and be friends.

Loey is very aware and wants/demands attention. She watches my every move and protests if I leave the room. Her smile lights up her whole face and it is very easy to get her to smile. She gets giggly in the afternoons. She is down to business when it's time to eat, sometimes finishing in 5 min! She's got strong abs, dainty feet, and such a sweet angel face. She is a light sleeper and struggles with taking a full nap sometimes. She sleeps better at night and likes to sleep in. She has a very angry cry but can quickly get over it. She still likes to be swaddled right now but this weekend we plan on making a move from the swaddle to sleep sacks. (Wish us luck!)

Tucker is my sweet, content little man. He plays so well on his own and rarely fusses in the bouncy seat. Sometimes I have to be intentional in giving him his fair share of attention because he is being so good. The one thing he demands is to be fed immediately after waking up. Tucker refuses a bottle so I feel a little "trapped" to this boy, but he's worth it! When Tucker smiles at me, I melt. Adam and I feel like he'll be our sensitive soul. We call Tucker "X man" because when he stretches he shapes his body into an x. He has the longest, skinniest feet- total opposite of Graham! Tucker has been waking up lately at night-our hungry little bird. I think he will transition to the sleep sack easier than Loey. We'll see!

Strong abs! SUPER GIRL

I love you so, so much Tucker and Loey Kate! We've made it 18 weeks!!!

Sarah, they are so precious! I love the picture of you holding both of them. Tucker's little smile is just too cute for words. :)

How's this for random? Met a new dentist yesterday at the office I grew up in...Dr. Pinter. He said he knew Adam who was 2 years ahead of him at dental school! But, they were inducing his wife to have TWINS today and they have a 17 month old boy. How bizarre is that!?! Their twins are both girls. Needless to say, you'll have to get in touch with them and prepare them for what lies ahead of them=)
