Random December pics

We love the Jesus Story Bible!  Adam loves to read the kids a Bible story before bed. Graham is a sponge, Tucker sorta gets it, and Loey listens for .3 second before hopping down to go play.  =)  I love seeing my hubby be the spiritual leader in this house and for his kids.

Graham has moved past taking naps now, but every now and then we find him snoozing in a random place.  He zonked out after playing in the snow with Daddy and Uncle David. 

We also like to use "sleep masks" around here.  Ha!

Uncle David fell in love with Miss Emmalee while holding her.  He said he wasn't really a baby person until he held her.  =)

I love this picture because it reminds me how sweet Graham is.  Graham is in LOVE with his stuffed animal monkey, and Gigi got Emmalee a monkey too.  Graham likes to make sure she has it, so I often find her monkey placed by her after I put her down somewhere.  Graham goes up to her room and gets it out of her crib and brings it down to her.  =) 

Having a newborn again has been a joy for me!  I thought I would've felt more overwhelmed, but Emmalee has been a very easy going baby and so, so very sweet.  The kids think she is wonderful and I'm enjoying having only one baby to take care of.  Taking care of twin babies was very challenging and I'm getting to cherish the moments of "spoiling" one baby again. 

Holy Blog Catch Up Time!!!

Well today is my birthday, and my hubby has rewarded me with sleeping in a bit and taking the older children to the gym for a few hours so I can have some time to myself.  Emmalee is still snoozing so here I am blogging again.  Something that has gotten TOTALLY pushed aside with my life as a Mom to four kids ages four and under.  I have a 4 year old, two 2 year olds and a 4 month old.  Busy doesn't describe how I run my days.  I was looking back through my blog and realized I forgot to document one of the biggest moments in history!  (Or in my life as a Mom)  I potty trained my twins!!! 
These first pictures are of Miss Loey Kate back in September when she asked to use the potty for the first time.  I had that girl potty trained by the weekend!  She was ready and I jumped on it- she was only 21 months old, but I knew the signs were there so we spent the 3 days fully at home and wore underwear (except at nap/night), did a sticker chart, used treats and WAHLA! 

She was so proud to be a Big Girl!  Her life goal is to be like Mommy.  =)

Tucker decided to slowly join the club a few weeks after.  I put underwear on him for a bit and immediately knew he wasn't ready.  He still wore a diaper until the end of February but would tell me he had to go off and on.

Some things in life are just cute and twins going to potty together is oddly one of them.  =)

 

I am happy to only have 1 child currently wearing diapers!  It is a big deal to pick out which pair of underwear to wear each day. Tucker just loves his underwear.  He is wearing it 24/7 while Loey still wears a pull up at nap/night.  That girl guzzles drinks like it's her job, so it may be a while for her to fully wear panties.  Oh well!  Works for me!!!  I'm proud of my twinies!

There are things in life right now that I feel like an expert on...potty training and breastfeeding, just to name a few.  ;)  Big skills, folks.  I may not be making a jillion dollars as a big important CEO but the ship is running and no one is drowning just yet.

Graham LOVES to take pictures of our family.  He has 3 different cameras of his own and likes to swipe ours every now and then.  Right now he is into posing us in various places around the house.  Here are a few snapshots that he took...

I love to see Graham "perform" with the preschoolers in Big church. You can tell he is always nervous but this time he did the motions and even sang a word or two!  An improvement!  Notice his best friend down by his feet...

Happy Birthday Matey, argh, Graham!

Graham really likes "Jake and the Neverland Pirates", so we have had many pirate themed activites this year, including his 4th b-day party.  That was money well spent on that Halloween outfit! 

Graham's party had to be post-poned one week because of our RSV fiasco with Loey and Emmalee but we had a successful party a week later! 

I love that he is now of an age where he really loves his friends.  We have been blessed with some awesome little guys around the same age and we love their families too! 

Graham's actual birthday was a chaotic day, but we tried to make it special for our little man.  Pancake breakfast, preschool, lunch at the mall, traditional bday carousel ride, chose an accessory from Build a Bear, played in the playplace, and ate dinner at Gatti-town!  I love my Graham Heston Hubert so incredibly much.  What a fun first "baby" he has been!!! He loves when I play a game and pretend that he is my baby until I look at his hands and feet and see that he has been replaced by a big boy!  How long with he think this is hilarious?  How long will he want me to snuggle him in his bed at night?  How long will he want me to sing Christmas carols to him year round?  Being his Mom has been a gift that I could not thank God enough for.  Graham, you are a SPECIAL, incredibly smart, big boy and I love who God made you to be.
