Back from Evansville! 4 mo 3 wks old

I haven't written in so long because we went to Evansville for 8 days!!! My Grahamster is all grown up too!!! At least he looks that way to me. He left NC as a baby and now he's...well a bigger baby! =) Everyday I go in and get him up in the morning and just stare at him and think, "Wow, he's bigger." And he probably is at the rate he is growing, but he just is so much more aware and responsive now! He's so much better at reaching and grabbing toys and things in front of him. He gets this determined look on his face as he spots something he wants and goes for it. When getting his diaper changed, he is determined to eat my watch or my arm= either is fine with him. He pulls and pulls and what a strong boy he is! Last night we spiked his hair into a mohawk. It's getting longer but only on the top! haha! We say as he grows new hair, Daddy loses his hair. It's a fair trade. =) We also tried Rice Cereal again. The first few faces were hilarious, but he got the hang of it. I think we will make cereal part of our dinner routine for a while. =) This morning I also let Graham suck on my finger and I got a peak into his mouth and spotted 2 little white tooth buds under his gums. Teething is just around the corner! Maybe that's why he woke up 7 times 2 nights ago!!! Last night it was only once- phew!

I won't bore you with the weekly details of our visit to Evansville, but here are the highlights!
*Spending the first half of the week with Mimi and Pop and Uncle David.
*Visiting Daddy at the office where Daddy will begin working in late June! Future Dentist?
*Visiting with Great Grandparents! I forgot to take pictures :(
*Visiting with Evansville friends galore! This is Graham's buddy-to-be Drake Blackard. Drake will be 2 this summer and he weighs only 4 pds more than Graham!!! He's so cute. Also, visiting with our good Indy friends Brad and Emily Rockwood. Thank you Brad and Emily for driving down from Indy for a visit! =) Once again, forgot to take pictures :(. We look forward to living only 3 hrs away!
*Spending the second half of the week with Gigi and Grandpa!
*Exploring our NEW HOUSE!!! We had so much fun planning and measuring and thinking that this house will actually be ours soon.
*Shopping for furniture!
*And I got sick! BOO! I hate being sick and I got stuck with a spring cold- don't worry- no Swine Flu for me! I hated being sick in Evansville, but it didn't stop us from running errands and going out to eat.
*First commercial plane ride! Graham was a gem 3 out of the 4 flights. On the last flight from Cinn to RDU, Graham had a minor meltdown from being overly tired! He eventually gave in to sleep on the way down. Go figure. =) Graham and I fly again BY OURSELVES in June back to IN. That should be interesting!
*Graham also got to do something he has never been allowed to do before...take a brief nap in bed with Mommy and Daddy! He kept waking up too early for us, so I got him and put him in bed one morning and Walah! It was like magic- that baby went right back to sleep until a decent hour of 7:00am. =)
*Overall, it was a great visit and we are looking forward to living in our new house back in our hometown. It will be bittersweet leaving NC as we have lots of family and friends that we will be sad to leave. There truly is a season for everything and I'm glad God allowed us a season in NC.

Our New House!

I have an interesting story to tell titled "We Bought our First Home!". You read that correctly...we bought a house!
Adam and I have been crazy-online-house hunters for the past few months knowing that we would be searching for a home in April. We've had fun picking out our top favorites and figuring out what would be within our budget. One goal we had was to find a really great deal! Over the past several weeks we've been watching all of our home favorites (all really great deals) begin to sell like hot donuts. (Yumm...don't donuts sound good now?) We had our eye on 3011 Deland Dr as one of our favorites and then on Thursday the price was lowered! We knew that it would most likely sell since it had become a wonderful deal. We talked to our realtor and sent our parents through the home to take pictures. Don't forget that we are doing this all from our apt in NC! We are scheduled to visit IN on April 18th for a week but we were worried that the home would sell before we could look at it. I'm so glad we jumped on it, because once we decided that it was too good to wait on, we learned that another offer had already been made on the home. Not to bore you with details, but we made a better offer and got the home for an unbelievable price...and we haven't even seen it in person yet!!! =) Most people are probably calling us nuts, but if you knew how much research and time we spent on looking then you'd know we are happy, happy, happy with the result! Now when we visit, we get to look at OUR home instead of looking for a home. It's on a wonderful, large lot with a nice fence and a pond! I picture Graham and Adam fishing down there in a few years. =) We prayed and prayed that God would either bless this crazy offer and allow it to go through or to slam the door if this wasn't the house for us. Thank God for answered prayers!

Adventure with the Sweigarts!

The Sweigart family left NC on Wednesday morning after a WONDERFUL, relaxing vacation. We met the Sweigarts in the mountains and stayed at my parents condo (thanks Mom and Dad). Arlie and Graham were so excited to finally meet one another! Arlie was very helpful to Graham in learning to roll over while playing on the floor.

We went to the Nature center where Lee got to hold a snake for the first time! Brave soul.

Let's just say it was NOT busy on the mountain and we pretty much had the Dining Lodge to ourselves. We had very yummy lunches and enjoyed listening to Graham and Arlie "talk". (Happy Birthday Christine!)

It was a gorgeous weekend and we had fun walking around and pushing the babies in their strollers, and riding around in golf cars with our babies strapped in their snugglies. Mountain walking left us huffing and puffing a few times- well it left Adam and I huffing at least! =) Christine and I also had fun putting Graham and Arlie right next to each other in their car seats while we headed off to shop. It gave us the feeling of having twins briefly! Wow- that would be a definite challenge.

Back in Chapel Hill, we had fun spending the day walking around UNC and Franklin St. There was definitely an excitement buzzing around the campus with the Final Game that night! Go Tarheels! We experienced our first "Bubble Tea" on Franklin St- who knew Tapioca Pearls would be yummy?!

The next day we went swimming (for the first time) at their hotel. The water was perfect and the kids were SO cute in their swimming suits. I think both Arlie and Graham will be little fish in their upcoming pool days. Here's Adam with Graham dressed in the only clothes we had in the diaper bag! Ha- he looked pretty funny in this mis-matched outfit. After our swim, we headed over to Duke to walk the gardens, peek at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and walk through the Duke Chapel. What a beautiful campus! We really enjoy living only 10 minutes away from both UNC and Duke.

Arlie is 2 months older than Graham. Arlie=dainty, lady Graham=sausage, brick! They cracked us up at the way they would interact. Arlie wanted to hold hands with Graham, but he already thinks girls have cooties. Secretly though, he's in love with Arlie. =)

THANK YOU CHRISTINE AND LEE for coming out to visit us. We loved your company and miss you already. Graham is already looking forward to another visit with his sweet Arlie.

Rolling Boy! 16 weeks 3 days old

I have lots to say about the past few wonderful days that we have spent with the Sweigart family but I don't have a lot of time so I at least wanted to document that....Graham rolled over on his own for the first time on April 5th!!! Well, little Arlie Sweigart helped him by trying to touch Graham's face. Graham tried to get away and he rolled right over. I was very proud of him! We've been trying for a repeat performance, but it hasn't happened yet. Oh well. =) More to come about spring break with the Sweigarts and lots and lots of cute pictures!!!

Check out that drool!
